Worst Use for An Airport

8. February 2010 by MJG 3 Comments

While it isn't strictly aviation, it does involve and airport and some serious risk to parked (and moving aircraft) but it certainly is exciting. Live and direct from InyoKern airport it's Captain Slow and Ken Block:

I'm a huge fan of the Top Gear shows (seen here on BBC America) but I truly had to cringe watching this guy slalom around aircraft tied down on the ramp at KIYK. With their budget I'm sure they were fully insured but if I had a plane on the ramp there and hadn't given permission for the plane to be used as a traffic cone, I think I'd be having a word or two with the Mr. Seymour...

The face of James May as they make the big jump together with the motorbike and the turboprop aircraft in the back... priceless! Have you seen the video of James May's U2 flight?

I have seen it. It was a great piece. Very well written. I wonder how much of these "bits" the guys write or if they are just mouth pieces?

Slow and deliberate is not necessarily a bad trait to have in a pilot; at 1,000 feet or 80,000 feet.
