One of the monthly chores (duties, privileges...whatever) of being a plane owner is that you need to update the navigation databases every 28 days in order to ensure that your GPS remains current. Kind of a coincidence that they need to be updated on the same cycle as the moon travels and women... well, you get the idea.
In the case of the Cirrus SR22-G2, this means swapping out the data cards on two Garmin 430s, updating the nav and obstacle database in the MFD. Right after updating the nav database in the MFD, I'll do a dump of the engine and flight data from the previous 28 days (beware renters, I know where you've been and I know what you did<G>)...
Anyway, long story short, as I was going out this morning and updating the plane's computers, I was was greeted with a glorious sunrise. Given I just had a little pocket camera with me it was hard to do it justice but here you go, for your viewing pleasure.
Oh yeah, and for those of you who might rent our plane from time to time, don't worry. I don't use performance data collected for punitive purposes. I actually use it to spot trends that can be brought to the attention of Sunrise's maintenance guys to correct. Things like malfunctioning or loose connectors for the EGT or CHT sensors, etc...
